This was the first time I ever worked with the Prud'hon style, a very interesting technique that was developed by french artist, Pierre Paul Prud'hon. Once you come across more of his masterful work you'll know this is a technique worth giving a try. Simply put, you have to define your middle gray, which is the actual color of the paper, and then work the rest of the tones around that.

Formidable Four

A couple semesters back we got into groups and we did this project. We were assigned to use our own shadows, so we projected all four of them into what one of the crew said was a take on Jacob's Ladder. It was all done on construction paper and it took loads of chalk pastels, also each panel was around 36x48". That's my part on the top left.
